A Few Storms Don’t Scare Us!

What happens when you and your fiance are only in town together for a limited time and your hair and makeup artist can only do your trial on a certain day? Well… you shoot the session come rain or shine! We got rain! I spent most of the afternoon pouring over the radar and blindly believing my weather app that said the skies will clear by 6pm.  6pm came and went with a rush of ominous black clouds, driving rain and gusting wind. Any photographer knows that these are prime conditions for a Melbourne Beach, Florida engagement session. NOT!

Hurry, Hurry…storm’s coming onshore!

I have to say that not many people would be up for waiting for a small gap in the rain to literally run to the beach to shoot. Cory and Tracy were up to the task and more! Tracy’s gorgeous (to die for!) electric blue dress was the perfect choice for this dark and stormy session. Isn’t she a beauty? It was honestly the quickest that I have ever worked, trying to get in as many photographs as I could before the impending wall of water. Cory’s job has him working outside and he assured me that we had 10 minutes before the downpour started. He was spot on!

The good thing about monsoon-like storms is that we had the beach to ourselves!

I really could not have wished for a better couple to brave the elements with me. So much laughter and amazing energy! We have declared a new rule that it is good luck to have rain on your engagement picture day! Can’t wait for your beach wedding (hopefully with just a little less rain!).
