There is so much to say about this Crystal Ballroom wedding. All the regular words like amazing, beautiful and gorgeous just don’t seem appropriate. The decor, her dress, the setting were all dreamy and ethereal but what made this day stand out to me was the immense infusion of energy. Couple that with their intense love for each other and the results are nothing short of breathtaking.
The reception started with Lola and Bryan dancing to She’s Got a Way by Billy Joel.. Sigh.. one of my most favorites! You just can’t go wrong with Billy Joel. As they swayed to the music I could see Lola just taking it in. Looking out to the quests realizing that so many people came together to celebrate with them. There may or may not have been tears! Side note..you guys had awesome music!
I love seeing moments love in unexpected situations
It just makes my heart happy. You expect it during the vows, the first kiss, even the first dance. It is the moments in between that I love to see. I have to say.. more than once I was witness to such sweet moments of pure, unscripted love.
During portrait time I had Lola and Bryan snuggling close together. I was trying to wrangle her veil in a less than forgiving windy situation. I am right up in their faces, camera in hand veil over all of us! Not exactly the setting for an intimate moment. It was then I overhead Bryan whispering to his beautiful bride….”we’re married”. Such simple words but said with so much emotion during a less than romantic moment.
The second moment that turned me to a puddle of mush made was on the dance floor. It was in that in between moment. You know.. when the slow dancing is over. The lights dim just a bit you have a split second of anticipation of wondering what the first dance song will be. The moment where girlfriends are starting to drag their guys onto the dance floor. The moment, as a wedding photographer, that you know it’s about to begin. Game on! In just a split second I noticed Lola and Bryan, still in the middle of the floor, holding hands. Bryan was holding her hand gazing down at the ring on her finger. I couldn’t hear if there were any words exchanged but it was one of those moments that just melts your heart.
They ended the night surrounded by their friend and family dancing in a sea of bubbles.
Thank you for treating me just like your family. It’s never expected but always appreciated. Thank you for completely and totally being yourselves in front of the camera and for spending most of our portrait session time on a very wobbling floating dock! I know that your adventure is just beginning!
Cheers!
